- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Ann Arbor VA Healthcare System, 2215 Fuller Rd, Ann Arbor, Michigan, 48105-2303 anticipates soliciting bids and consequently awarding a contract for the construction project known as "Replace Fire Alarm System." The solicitation will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 14 (SEALED BIDDING) and Part 36 (CONSTRUCTION) and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures therein. The solicitation will be advertised as a Total Set-Aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, supplies, travel, etc. to perform all work under this project which consists of: STATEMENT OF WORK FIRE ALARM SYSTEM REPLACEMENT VA PROJECT NO.: 506-11-116 The purpose of this project is to convert the fire alarm system throughout the entire Medical Center from a bell/chime type system to a speaker based annunciation system. This project involves the removal and replacement of all annunciator panels, control units, wiring and associated devices throughout each facility on campus. The fire alarm system will be replaced in phases so as minimize disruptions in service. While some of the recently installed devices may meet the requirements of this project, the final product must provide the Medical Center with a complete system. The period of performance is 240 calendar days for the entire project. Magnitude of construction is expected to be $2,000,000 to $5,000,000. NAICS Code for this acquisition is 238210. The solicitation documents including specifications and drawings will be issued on or about 3-30-2012 and will be posted on Federal Business Opportunities. This date is subject to change. Hard copy documents including drawings will not be available - all documents for bidding purposes will be posted at this website for download. Site visit information will be provided upon issuance of solicitation. Only one site visit is planned. Bids will be due 30 days after issuance of solicitation unless extended by amendment. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not a request for submission of offers. The Government is not obligated to issue a solicitation as a result of this notice.
