- The Department of the Army, Healthcare Acquisition Activity- North intends to negotiate a Sole Source commercial item procurement with superDimension to provide a superDimension inReach i-Logic System Upgrade. This proposed procurement is for supplies for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than February 29, 2012, noon local time. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. SuperDimension is the only manufacturer/vendor of this product that includes the ENB capability compatible with our system. While there are similar type systems available, this unit is an upgrade for equipment from the same vendor that is currently in use and in our possession. Buying a similar product would require the purchase of not only an entire new system, but other bronchoscopes that are associated with the current system, thus incurring additional costs.
