Description
Combined Solicitation/Synopsis- BEP-RFP-12-0009 The Bureau of Engraving & Printing has a requirement for an upgrade of four (4) existing freight elevators at the Western Currency Facility in Fort Worth, TX. This includes installing new machines, controllers and all associated mechanical and electrical components required to meet current freight elevator codes. This requirement will be set-aside for a Total HUBZone Business. The offeror shall provide all labor, materials, and equipment to prepare the area identified in the drawings and specifications. In accordance with FAR 52.204-7, Required Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and prospective HUBZone firms must be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) http://www.ccr.gov, prior to award. The Offeror must also have a current record in the Online Representations & Certifications Application (ORCA) website located at, https://orca.bpn.gov. No hard copies of the solicitation or drawings will be provided; they can be downloaded from http:///www.fbo.gov. All amendments issued to this solicitation will ONLY be available on the FBO website; http://ww.fbo.gov/. The NAICS Code is: 333921. This scope of the work involves, but is not limited to an entire modernization of the four (4) existing freight elevators. The offeror shall provide and install power freight doors and power freight gates as specified. The contractor shall provide and install the following: car signal fixtures, elevator control and drive systems, power freight doors, power freight gate, freight door status visual indicator assembly. All work shall be performed in accordance to the Texas Adopted Elevator Codes. The codes determine elevator safety standards to be followed during the completion of this project for the state of Texas which are: (1) The most applicable edition of the National Safety Code for Elevators; (2) Dumbwaiters- Must be installed in compliance with requirements of the National Electric Code, American Society of Mechanical Engineers safety code, and state and local building codes. (3) The American Society of Mechanical Engineers Safety Code (ASME A17.1); (4) The Society for Mechanical Engineers Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators (ASME Code A17.3); (5) The American Society of Civil Engineers Code 21- for people movers operated by cables (ASCE Code 21) as it existed on January 1, 2004, or any subsequent revision of that code adopted after a review by the commission as required by law; (6) Barrier Free Codes as pertaining to Passenger Elevators (ANSI A117.1); (7) The Americans with Disabilities Act (ASME A17.1- 2000); (8) The National Electrical Code, and/or such State and Local elevator codes as applicable. All equipment must be ThyssenKrupp Elevator equipment or equivalent pursuant to FAR 52.211-6- "Brand Name or Equal". Basis for Award: The Government will assess the capability of each offeror on the basis of (1) Specialized Experience, (2) Past Performance, (3) Construction management, (4) Safety, and (5) Price. The Government intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price contract to lowest priced, technically acceptable offeror. Site Visit A site visit will be held at 9000 Blue Mound Road Fort Worth, Texas on Wednesday, 14 March and 21 March 2012 at 10:00 am (CT).
