Description

Sources Sought Notice The Department of Veterans Affairs - VA Medical Center, Battle Creek is seeking information in response to this Sources Sought Notice for market research purposes only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR OFFERS. The Government is under no obligation to issue solicitation documents regarding this project. Seeking responses from qualified small businesses registered as Service Disabled Veteran Owned, Veteran Owned, Section 8a, Small Disadvantaged, Women Owned, or HUBZone capable of providing the required construction services outlined below. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for the work is 236220 with a small business size standard of $33.5 million annual average receipts over the past 3 years. Responses are to include brief summaries (date of project, location, owner's name, contract value, description of work) of at least three examples of work performed within the past three calendar years equivalent to that outlined below in the scope of work section that was predominantly accomplished directly with your own work force (not subcontracted out). This notice is not intended to seek responses from general contractors who do not possess the required experience and technical expertise within their own company. This project has specific experience and qualification requirements that will be included in any subsequent advertisement for offers. Responses to this notice must be submitted via email only to Sonny Earls- Contract Specialist at Sonny.Earls@va.gov and received no later than 3-07-2012. The email subject line must read Source Sought VA251-12-B-0121. All responses to this notice must identify the socio-economic status of the respondent as registered in the Central Contractor Registration, name and address of company, name and phone number of contact person, and DUNS number. Description of the Scope of Work: Mental Health Clinic Renovation B7 VA Project No.: 515-313 Provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and all other necessary resources for Project 515-313 Mental Health Clinic Renovation B7 which will renovate the existing 24,800 Sq. Ft. area of B-7 and include the new construction of a 2000 Sq. Ft. Addition and related site work as indicated on the contract drawings and specifications. The General Contractor shall provide all site demolition and new work to build out the new truck dock to ensure continued operation of the Canteen Service before starting work on the new front entrance. Demolition work will include protection of the existing construction area from the existing adjacent site buildings including the notification of phased shut down or tie in to site utilities, life safety notification systems or energy management systems. Work includes demolition of the interior walls to exterior wall perimeter and floor finishes (to the concrete sub-base). Work includes demolition of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Work includes demolition of exterior wall areas for the removal and replacement of existing windows. Period of Performance shall be 365 calendar days after issuance of Notice to Proceed. Magnitude of Construction is Between: $5,000,000 and $10,000,000
