- Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Contract Air Force Joint Tactical Radio System (AF-JTRS) Multiband, Single-Channel Manpack Radio This is a Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Contract. The Department of the Air Force, Air Force Materiel Command, Electronics Systems Center (ESC), Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence - Networks Directorate, Airborne Network Division designated the AF JTRS Program Office to procure man-packable, non-developmental item (NDI) radios and accessories to fill a gap of capability until JTRS Handheld, Manpack, Small Form Fit (HMS) products enter production. The Single-Channel Manpack Radio Set (AN/PRC-117G) will provide a solution for the Air Force, as it acquires software-programmable and hardware-configurable digital radio equipment. The AN/PRC-117G Radio System is currently used by Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) and Air Combat Command (ACC) forces. The Government intends to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Sole Source, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract to Harris Corporation, Harris RF Communication, 1680 University Ave., Rochester, NY 14610 to supply the U.S. Air Force with AN/PRC-117G Radio Systems, associated hardware and software. Harris Corporation, Harris RF Communication is the sole manufacturer of the radio and a Sole Source Contract will be pursued with Harris RF Communication under statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) set forth in FAR 6.302-1(a)(ii)(B), titled "Available only from the Original Source" and unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirements. The associated North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334220 and the business size standard is 750 employees. This contracting action has an estimated value of $85M. Period of performance will be for five (5) years from the date of the contract award. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement or exception to the intent to purchase on a sole source basis, which shall be considered by the Government if received within ten (15) days of this notice, expiring on 08 March 2012 at 6:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST). The Department of Defense (DoD) has determined the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) to be the single DoD registration for contractors who conduct business or who are interested in conducting business with the DoD.
