- Description
- The US Geological Survey, Geologic Division, Earthquake Hazards Team, requests a brand name, or equal, product to an ELSYS TraNET EPC-32 high speed digitizer/transient recorder. Laboratory experiments investigating the generation of high frequency seismic waves during stick-slip of simulated faults have showed that high frequency (100 kHz-5MHz) waves are radiated during rupture nucleation, initiation, and propagation. An accurate recording of the high frequency waves is critical to understanding the physics of rupture nucleation, initiation, and propagation, and how seismic waves are generated by these processes. Therefore, we require a wide-bandwidth, multichannel, analogue-to-digital converter which does not distort recorded signals. This high speed digitizer must be capable of accurately recording high frequency waveforms up to 5 MHz with 14-16 bit dynamic range while also recording low frequency waveforms down to 200 Hz. We have determined that the Elsys TraNET EPC-32 will fulfill our needs. Requirements of the analogue-to-digital recording system include:- 16 time-synchronized channels, field expandable up to 32 channels- BNC female input connectors- 1 M Ohm input impedance on all channels- variable input range from +/- 50 m V up to +/- 50 V- operating bandwidth: 200 Hz to 5 MHz at all input ranges- at least 14 bit dynamic range- onboard memory capable of recording at least 16 Msamples per channel- at least 70 dB sin ratio at 5 MHz- triggering capabilities: positive/negative edge, window, AND, slew rate, and pulse width- integrated software for viewing and analyzing signals before they are written to hard disk- multi block data capture mode with no dead-time between blocks This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in affect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-55, effective 02 Feb 2012. This requirement is subject to the information in the attached "Instructions, Requirements, and Provisions." As well, see solicitation RFQ Standard Form 18 with list of the Contract Line Items. The Government anticipates award of a commercial, Firm-Fixed Price type contract. All firms must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database at www.ccr.gov, as well as, the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) to be considered for award. Please contact the Contract Specialist, in writing, by email at zbuss@usgs.gov, with any questions. Questions are due no later than 5:00pm PST on 27 February 2012. This requirement is unrestricted business size. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334515, Instrument Manufacturing for Measuring and Testing Electricity and Electrical Signals. Size Standard for Small Business is 500 employees.
