- The USACE, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), has a need to procure the design and development of a two-inch-diameter Split-Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) system. Solicitation Number W912HZ-12-R-0011 will be issued as a request for proposal (RFP) with the intent to award a Firm Fixed price contract using negotiated procedures. The request will be for the development of SHPB System to conduct unconfined tests. However, in the future ERDC may modify the system to enable confined tests on specimens. The design, fabrication, and installation will be conducted over a two-year period. Detailed specifications will be available on the FedBizOpps website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov on or about 8 March 2012. Hardcopies will not be available. Offerors should check the FedBizOpps web page often for new solicitations and/or changes (AMENDMENTS) to existing ones. THIS PROCUREMENT IS 100% SET-ASIDE FOR HUBZONE UNDER NAICS CODE 334519 WITH A SIZE STANDARD OF 500 EMPLOYEES. No technical questions will be considered prior to the release of the solicitation.
