Solicitation Number: VA245-12-Q-0126 Notice Type: Presolicitation Synopsis: PRESOLICITATION NOTICE - MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION SERVICES - TOTAL SDVOSB SET ASIDE ONLY The Department of Veterans Affairs has a requirement for offsite medical transcription services. The contractor shall provide off-site dictation and medical transcription services for the VA Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS), 10 North Greene Street, Baltimore, Maryland, in accordance with all terms and conditions of this contract. Additionally: D.1. General Description of the work D.1.1. All work, including any subcontracted work, at any level of subcontract, shall be preformed within the United States, or United States territories, or possessions. D.1.2. The dictated material includes, but is not limited to the following: discharge summaries, operative and non-operative (cardiac catheterization, endoscopy, dermatology) reports, medical history and physical exam reports, radiology reports, emergency department notes, compensation and pension examination reports, transfer summaries, outpatient and inpatient progress notes, cardiology reports (Holter monitors, echocardiograms, stress treadmills), neurology reports (EEG, EMG, Dopplers), surgical pathology reports, cytology reports, autopsy reports, mental status examinations, Persian Gulf examinations, Agent Orange examinations, procedure notes, consultations, miscellaneous medical and other administrative reports. D.1.3.Material is dictated by a variety of clinical staff and requires adaptation to variations in accents, speech, tone, voice volume, delivery, pronunciation, and enunciation. D.1.4.Specialized vocabularies shall encompass a variety of subjects in the field of medicine and surgery to include, but are not limited to: ambulatory care, anesthesiology, cardiology, dermatology, dentistry, drug and alcohol treatment, endocrinology, general medicine, gastroenterology, general surgery, geriatrics, gynecology, hematology immunology, internal medicine, neurology, neurosurgery, nuclear medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, oral surgery, orthopedics, otolaryngology, otorhinolaryngology, vascular, pathology, psychiatry, psychology, plastic surgery, pulmonary, renal, radiology, rheumatology, spinal cord injury, thoracic surgery, transplant, and urology. D.2. Equipment D.2.1. The Contractor shall have dictation system and software able to support the estimated volume of dictation and incoming telephone ports to support 150 VA dictating staff and to transmit reports back to the VAMHCS. If not already owned or in use by Contractor, Contractor will purchase, lease, etc., necessary software, equipment and services to be able to transcribe and view VA work. The contractor must specify equipment to allow VA transcriptionist(s) to utilize vendor's system to transcribe a limited amount (< 10,000 lines/month). The contract is for a period of 12 Months plus Two Option Years. The NAICS code is 561410 and the size standard is $7 million. The VA is soliciting for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses only and all documents will be available on or about March 5, 2012.
