- The RFI is seeking concepts from the commercial nuclear industry that have the potential to positively impact DOE?s nuclear energy research, development, and demonstration activities; define appropriate levels of funding in technology development; and guide collaboration activities with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and nuclear industry stakeholders. The most desirable projects are those that advance reactor concepts in terms of safety, energy security, time to deployment, economics, actinide management and waste minimization.
