Description
Project Description Contractor to provide all resources including but not limited to materials, labor, parts, and equipment necessary to complete project 438-12-150 "Construct 3W-5 Waiting Room", in accordance with the plans and specifications. This project is located at the Sioux Falls, SD VA Health Care System. Scope of Work: The contractor shall provide all resources necessary to accomplish the deliverables described in the statement of work (SOW), except as may otherwise be specified. The purpose of this project is to eliminate the patient waiting within the corridor. In order to do this, the space used for respiratory and cardiac care and staff space has also been reconfigured. The project involves demolition of existing walls, ceilings, flooring and mechanical systems as required; erection of new walls in the space and to conform to the new layout of the existing space; new power, lighting, telephone and data systems for the area; new fire sprinkler piping as required. Contractor shall provide all new system documentation, calibration, installation, installation supervision, certification, and factory authorized representative start-up and repair and maintenance training. All VA electrical, plumbing and HVAC plant staff shall be included in the training sessions. Project documentation shall be provided and will include, as documented in the specifications, as-built plans in AutoCAD format, and operation and maintenance manuals for all installed items. Background: The plans and specifications depict existing conditions, as well as planned renovations to the area. The project area will be vacated for the construction period, but the 3W wing will continue in use and one hour construction barriers will be required. The estimated magnitude of the construction project is between $250,000 and $500,000. The project duration is expected to be 180 days from the date of receipt of the notice to proceed. Electronic solicitation documents will be made available in electronic format only through the VA website at: http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is recommended that you complete the solicitation mailing list on the website before downloading the solicitation. This procurement is 100% set-aside for SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB). Prospective contractors must be registered and current in the VetBiz Registry website prior to submitting bid: http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov. Prospective contractors must be registered and current in the CCR and ORCA websites prior to award: http://www.ccr.gov and https://orca.bpn.gov. Bids will only be accepted from responsible and responsive contractors. The firm must be a General Construction firm approved under NAICS code 236220-size standard is $33.5 million. A bid bond will be required in the amount of 20% of bid, and performance and payment bonds will be required upon award of contract. The estimated dollar value of this procurement is between $250,000 and $500,000. Specifications and drawings will be uploaded on or about February 22, 2012. Specs and plans will be available for download from the FedBizOpps website at https://www.fbo.gov/. Amendments to this solicitation will be posted at the FedBizOpps website as well.
