- Description
- The National Park Service seeks to award an order to cast 8-inch Artillery Shells for Heg Monument for the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA. The requirements includes the contractor provides all labor and materials to cast 330 8-inch artillery shells made from ductile iron. The contractor will use the pattern specifically designed for the Park to make the sand cast molds used to pour the 8-inch artillery shells, and use the pattern to cast 330 shells using ductile iron. The outside dimensions of the cast shell should match the outside dimensions of the original shell. The contractor will need to factor in shrinkage so that the reproduced shell matches the original shell within 1/32 of an inch. The completion time for this work is approximately 6 weeks. This notice allows interested firms to submit a price quote based on the requirements stated above. Quotes must be received by March 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. to the attention of Laurie Chestnut, Contracting Officer, National Park Service, SER MABO, 100 Alabama Street SW, 5th Floor, Atlanta, GA 30303; or by email to laurie_chestnut@nps.gov; or by fax to 404-562-3256. A site visit will not be provided by the NPS. However, contractors are welcomed to visit the Park. Any information provided by any NPS employees other than the Contracting Officer relative to this procurement will is NOT binding. All inquiries must be sent electronically to laurie_chestnut@nps.gov. If no quotes are received or received timely, or received in a manner that is not consistent the requirement, the government will proceed with a sole source procurement.
