- Description
- The attached file is the complete RFI for Science Services Support Project (S3P) The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is seeking information in preparation of an anticipated future solicitation/solicitations for an information technology solution to automate support processes for the Agency's scientific business services. This request for information (RFI) is not a solicitation and does not guarantee that the Government will proceed with a solicitation or award of a contract in the future. This request is only for market research purposes, and its purpose is to poll vendors about a potential solution to meet CDC's scientific business needs. The Scientific Support Services Project (S3P) represents the cross-Agency efforts of OADS and Centers, Institutes, and Office (CIO) program staff conducting research and scientific studies throughout the world to improve scientific administrative and management oversight activities at the Federal level. S3P aims to improve the efficiency, quality, accountability, and user friendliness of three Scientific Integrity services, and to enhance the ability to process a project in a consistent, logical manner using Information Technology (IT) systems. S3P is following the CDC implementation of the HHS Enterprise Performance Life Cycle framework established by HHS policy in 2008. S3P includes formal governance for all activities and decisions related to executing the project. A key goal of S3P is to modernize IT that supports the goals of OSI across the Agency including its world wide science and research. The desired capabilities of the resulting S3P system(s) are derived from existing functionality of current systems (to be retired) and new functionality that is not covered by the current systems. The S3P end solution will include one or multiple "best in breed" commercial and/or open source software products to be integrated via configuration or customization into a single solution to meet the defined capabilities. The solution will reside on-premise at CDC.
