Description
The Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Alaska Science Center located in Anchorage, AK has a requirement to charter a research vessel for an estimated fifteen days of vessel support for sea otter capture. The anticipated start date will begin between the dates of July 15, 2012 to August 30, 2012. The area of operation will be western Prince William Sound and the deployment will originate and end in Whittier, Alaska. The vessel will provide transportation and support for 8-10 scientists. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial services prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is G12PS00155 and is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in affect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-55, effective February 2, 2012. Please see solicitation with CLINS, technical specifications, provisions, and clauses. Quotations are due no later than 05:00pm ET on February 28, 2012. The Government anticipates award of a commercial, Firm-Fixed Price type contract on or about March 1, 2012. One or more of the items under this acquisition is subject to Free Trade Agreements. All firms must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database at www.ccr.gov, as well as, the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) to be considered for award. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 483113 Coastal and Great Lakes Freight Transportation and the size standard is 500 employees.
