- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Fisher International, 3970 Johns Creek Court, Suite 500, Suwanee, GA 30024-1297, for three Arctiko freezers, a model LF-300 (-10/-30C, cat #DAI 0225), a model ULUF700 (-40/-85, cat #DAI1416), and a LFF660 refrigerator/freezer (cat #DAI265). In addition, three voltage stabilizers are necessary: one SVS04-22 (cat #DAI 0941) and two SVS08-22s (cat #DAI0942). All three of these freezers will be used in and shipped directly to Barnako, Mali, Africa, as part of the USAID Project for laboratory-based surveillance, used for testing and storage of clinical samples and DNA extracts in the lab which require appropriate storage to maintain the integrity of the samples. These freezers have extremely low energy consumption, low noise level, low heat dissipation, ergonomic loading, heated door frame and vacuum valve, and are 100% HCFC/CFC free, which is required. The combination refrigerator/freezer also has micro-processor controller with digital display, 72-hour battery backup, visual and acoustic alarm, adjustable high/low temperature alarm, power failure alarm, probe failure alarm, instrument failure alarm, door open alarm, contact for remote alarm, an integrated data logger with software, a RS485 interface, and USB read out, and is prepared for a GSM alarm. All units come with castors and door key locks. CDC believes that this requirement is met by only one provider. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation is being issued.
