- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: NOAA/National Marine Fisheries Service/Northeas Fisheries Science Center, intends to issue a purchase order under FAR 13.501, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, to Benetec, Inc., on a Sole Source basis to purchase the following line items: 0001: 1 EACH - Benetec OTO-LABCUT 230F Floor Standing Abrasive Cutting Machine complete with sectioning fixture and diamond wafering blade. 0002: 1 EACH - Additional Diamond Sectioning Blade The intended delivery date for the items is: March 30, 2012 The Government intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price sole source purchase order to Benetec, Inc. Benetec Inc. is the sole manufacturer/distributor of the product and no other source will satisfy the Government's requirement. The associated North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 333512 and the business size standard is 500. All responses received within 8 days after the date of publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. Information will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 12:00 PM Eastern Time, February 21, 2012. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements. This document incorporates provisions and clauses that are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-55 effective February 2, 2012. This requirement is determined to be available from one source because of its unique requirements. No request for quote for this procurement will be transmitted via Federal Business Opportunities. All potential offerors shall contact Susan Henderson via email at Susan.Henderson@noaa.gov or by fax at 508-495-2004 for additional information and/or to communicate concerns, if any, regarding this acquisition. Posting date of this requirement is February 13, 2012. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Telephone requests will not be honored.
