Description
This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a sources sought synopsis only. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (service disabled veteran owned small business, veteran owned small business, hub zone, 8(a), small disadvantage business, woman-owned, small business, or large business) relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 561990 and the Small Business Size Standard is $7 million. Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Any information submitted by respondents to this sources sought synopsis is strictly voluntary. The Government will not pay for any information that is submitted by respondents to this sources sought synopsis request. The Government will in no way be obligated to purchase all or part of the items described above, and is providing this information as "general" information only. The Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued. Once the Government determines the type of contractor eligibility that will be solicited for this requirement a solicitation will be issued for qualified Offerors to submit a complete proposal for evaluation. The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing a sources sought to inquire about available sources capable of providing Document Shredding Services for the Veteran Integrated Services Network (VISN)10 facilities located in Ohio at Cleveland, Dayton, Chillicothe Columbus, Cincinnati and its supported subsidiaries. If a solicitation is issued it is anticipated to be for a base year with four one-year option periods. The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, vehicles, supervision, and other items and services necessary to perform collection, and on-site shredding of paper materials at all Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 10 facilities located in Ohio including: -Network Offices -Cincinnati VA Medical Center -Dayton VA Medical Center -Chillicothe VA Medical Center located at -Chalmers P. Wylie Ambulatory Care Center -Cleveland VA Medical Center and all of VAMC's subsidiaries located within Ohio. The Contractor will be certified by the National Association for Information Destruction. The contractor shall perform to the standards in the contract as well as all local, state, and federal regulations. Paper materials will be defined as any type of paper used in an office environment, such as copy paper, brochure paper, newspaper, coated stock, slick magazine-type paper, envelopes, computer paper, any type of note paper, manila folders, and hanging folders. Contractor will not require cardboard inserts, staples, paper clips, binder clips, rubber bands, or plastic covers to be removed from material placed in collection units. The Contractor shall collect and shred on-site and on the same day all materials from the Contractor supplied lock boxes (consoles) or designated Contractor secured holding area. All firms interested in this requirement should notify the Contracting Officer via email to Thomas.moore9@va.gov prior to 2/17/2012. Telephone responses will not be accepted. Responses should provide company name, address, point of contact, telephone and fax number, business size and status (Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB), Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB), etc.), and must include a capability statement that addresses the organizations qualifications and ability to perform as a prime contractor for the work described. Respondents should include which locations that can be serviced if they are not capable of providing service to all locations. Respondents with current GSA contracts should indicate so. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted. This notice is to assist the VA in determining sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued it will be announced at a later date, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. Responses to this sources sought is not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation.
