- This construction project will require the replacement of approximately 26,000 square feet of asphalt shingles on a portion of the Building 102 roof. Building 102 is a multi-story building with the roof eave approximately 50 feet above grade. General project scope includes removal of existing shingles and replacement with new underlayment and asphalt shingles. The work includes repair or replacement of flashing and damaged roof decking, and typical roofing work associated with drip edges, valleys, hips, and ridges, etc. The contractor shall supply all materials, equipment, labor, quality control, and dispose or recycle all wastes. The contractor shall provide a 5 year warranty on workmanship defects and a 30 manufacturer's warranty on the asphalt shingles. Work shall be in accordance with provided scope of work, planning drawings, and specifications. Work shall be accomplished within 100 days after the notice to proceed. The rough order of magnitude is between $100,000 and $250,000. This procurement is set aside to small business, NAICS code 238160/$14,000,000. The solicitation, scope of work and specifications will be available on or about February 23, 2012. The solicitation and specification will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502 and 5.102, therefore, hardcopies will not be provided. The solicitation shall be issued via the Internet at https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi and http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Any changes to the solicitation shall also be posted to these websites. It is the responsibility of the contractor to check these sites daily for any posted changes. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above internet address in order to obtain any amendments that may be issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for receipt of proposals may render your bid or proposal non-responsive and result in the rejection of the of the same.
