- Description
- The Air Force Flight Test Center is seeking potential sources capable of performing installation and removal of appliances at Edwards Air Force Base, CA. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment and supervision required to install new appliances and remove existing appliances in identified Military Family Housing units at Edwards Air Force Base by one of the two methods presented below. Precautions shall be taken by the contractor employees to prevent damage to appliances, units, and grounds; any damages shall be the responsibility of the contractor to repair or replace at no cost to the Government. The work site at each home shall be left clean; all materials and debris shall be cleaned up and removed at the completion of work at each home. All debris shall be removed and disposed of outside of Edwards Air Force Base. New appliances and quantities listed below will replace same number of like appliances: • 263 Hotpoint Gas Ranges, Model # RGB745DEPWH • 29 Whirlpool Side-by-Side Refrigerators, Model # ED5FHEXVQ • 172 Whirlpool Top Mount Refrigerators, Model # WRT5L1SMYW • 191 General Electric Dishwashers, Model # GSD2300RWW • In addition, 262 new GE Spacemaker Microwave Ovens, Model # JVM1750DPWW will replace 262 existing range hoods. Microwaves shall be installed to connect to existing ducting which vents to outside. Removed range hoods shall be transported to the housing office compound, placed and stacked in tri-wall containers and tarped for protection from the elements. Method #1 - Disposing of Old Appliances through Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office: Work includes pick-up of new appliances from warehouse located at Building 3736, Edwards Air Force Base, and transport and delivery to specified homes, removal and replacement of existing appliances, and/or installation of new appliances, and transport of used/replaced appliances to the housing office compound, and preparation (palletize, cello-wrap, band, and tarp for weather protection) of used/replaced appliances for Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO) pickup. Method #2 - Old Appliances Become Property of Contractor: Work includes pick-up of new appliances from warehouse located at Building 3736, Edwards Air Force Base, and transport and delivery to specified homes, removal and replacement of existing appliances, and/or installation of new appliances. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) number for this effort is 238210 with a size standard of $14M. A Blanket Purchase Agreement is being contemplated for this acquisition with an estimated period of performance of two years. Contract award is estimated to take place March 2012. This synopsis constitutes one form of early industry involvement and the Government requests industry recommendations, opinions, and feedback. This synopsis is for planning purposes only, and does not constitute a solicitation for bids/proposals. Responses will assist the Government in determining whether to set-aside/restrict competition in some way or solicit offers from all responsible sources. Prospective vendors must provide proof of small business representation through the Central Contract Registration (CCR) and Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA). The Government will not pay for any information submitted in response to this announcement.
