- This is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. Reference SSA-RFI-12-RDB when responding to this announcement. Social Security Administration is seeking a company that specializes in the integration and customization of an automated test tool capable of performing stress, performance, regression and capacity testing applications developed in 3270 Customer Information Control System (CICS) and WebSphere on z/OS. This Sources Sought Notice is for information and planning purposes and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The information provided may be used by the Social Security Administration in developing its acquisition strategy and statement of work. This sources sought notice does not commit the Government to pay for the information requested, issue a solicitation, or award a contract. The Social Security Administration (SSA) is conducting a market survey to determine the availability and technical capability of qualified businesses with experience integrating and configuring (or customizing if necessary) one or more automated test tools for the purposes of testing 3270 CICS applications together with HTTP WebSphere applications in a z/OS mainframe environment. SSA has an existing inventory of automated test scripts written in IBM's Workload Simulator (WSIM) product, which is used to test 3270 CICS applications. SSA is seeking an automated testing tool(s) that provide the capability of stress testing 3270 CICS software together with WebSphere HTTP browser based software. Solutions involving a replacement of the WSIM product will also need to include contractor support to convert the existing WSIM scripts to the new tool, and maintenance. SSA is seeking vendors who are qualified and have had prior experience in developing automated test scripts in support of performance and capacity testing 3270 CICS and HTTP WebSphere applications in a z/OS mainframe environment. Qualified vendors should indicate if they are able to provide these services under a GWAC (FSS, SEWP, NITAAC), etc. Vendors should also indicate their business size status, including if they are a small business, veteran owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, 8(a) certified small business, or HUBZone small business. This is not a request for proposal, therefore SSA will not honor or respond to written and/or verbal requests for copies of a solicitation, or other information related to this announcement. Vendors who believe they have the capability to successfully deliver these services are invited to submit information concerning their company's capabilities to SSA. Simple marketing information or incomplete responses will not be considered. Reference to vendor websites is not considered a valid response. Sources must sufficiently demonstrate the capability to meet these requirements and must provide detailed experience and qualifications in all previous work pertinent to this effort.
