- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for a custom tunable pulsed UV laser for the In-situAirborne Formaldehyde Instrument (ISAF). The specifications are linked above or may beaccessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=51#150077. NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the item from Novawave Technologies, Inc., under theauthority of FAR 13.106 for the acquisition of supplies or services reasonably availablefrom one source. The laser must meet the same performance characteristics of the existinglaser, occupy the same physical footprint, andhave the same electrical and softwareinterface. This laser will be a replacement backup. The laser needs to be purchased andcapable of supporting a field campaign that begins in May 2012.Interested organizations may submit quotes if they believe they are capable of providingthis requirement. Quotes shall be submitted in writing to the identified point of contactnot later than 3 p.m. est on February 17, 2012.This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation,which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and awritten solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use the On-Line RFQsystem to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above or it may beaccessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=51#150077.The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred)no later than February 14, 2012. Oral communication will not be accepted in response tothis requirement. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the releaseof amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their owncopy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any).An ombudsman has been appointed - See NASA Specific Note 'B'.Any referenced notes may be viewed at the following URLs link below.
