Description
Project Description: Provide all materials, labor, parts, and equipment necessary to complete project 438-12-104 "Boiler Tube Replacement - Boilers One (1) and Two (2)". The Contractor is required to furnish all labor, materials, services, equipment, insurance, and perform all work to replace boiler tubes for Boilers One (1) and Two (2). Contractor will be responsible, for the following for each boiler, all to meet the satisfaction of the VA Medical Center: Cut out boiler tubes and provide appropriate and proper disposal. The boiler tube replacement per boiler will require a quantity of 232 (total 464) American made tubes and be: "Electric resistance welded "SA178 Grade "A" "A diameter of 2 ½" with a wall thickness of 0.105". Inspect and clean the front and rear boiler tube sheets and the boiler inner shell. New boiler tubes shall be cut to length per hole and have sheet to sheet measurements to ensure every new boiler tube fits. New boiler tubes shall be rolled, beaded, and re-rolled to ensure adequate sealing of the new boiler tubes to the tube sheets. Install skimmer piping inside the Boiler(s) in the length of 6'. Skimmer piping shall be of HD ¾" Stainless Steel material with 5/16" holes drilled every 4" (one hole vertical, one hole horizontal every 4"). The outside end of the Stainless Steel piping will have a ¾" pipe cap. Perform a "boil out" to clean all oil and other construction debris from the outside surface of the new boiler tubes and inner shell of the boilers. Perform a Hydro Test on the water sides of the boiler. Provide the services of a National Board Certified Boiler Inspector to witness a final Hydro prior to boiler(s) start-up. This procurement is 100% set-aside for SMALL BUSINESSES. Prospective contractors must be registered and current in the following websites: http://www.ccr.gov and https://orca.bpn.gov to be eligible for award. This project is an invitation for bid; bids will be accepted from only responsible and responsive contractors. The firm must be a Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning Contractor approved under NAICS code 238220-size standard is $14.0 million. Bid Bond will be required in the amount of 20% of bid, and Performance and Payment bonds will be required upon award of contract. The estimated dollar value of this procurement is between $45,000.00 and $100,000. Invitation for Bid will be uploaded on or about February 13, 2012.
