- The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) has a requirement to furnish Research Investigator/Surgeon Support at the U.S. Army Institute of Research, San Antonio, TX. Services will be performed in the Combat Critical Care Engineering Task Area of the Research Director at Fort Sam Houston. Support includes, but is not limited to: conducting approved protocols for animal research; participates in human research with research staff and other licensed providers; performs animal surgery to include both routine catheterizations and complex cardiovascular and trauma/critical care and neurological surgical procedures; performs all aspects of critical care management of critically ill, mechanically ventilated animals; operates a variety of clinical and experimental monitors and life support systems, to include mechanical ventilators, data acquisition systems, pulmonary mechanics monitors, and intra- as well as extrapcorporeal oxygenation circuits; and analyzes physiologic waveforms data by time, spectral, and fractal techniques using commercial software and internally developed analysis tools; conceptualizes and develops new metrics and software applications with assistance from software engineers. Anticipated contract type is Firm Fixed-Price for a Base Year and Four Option Years. Base period estimated price ranges between $150,000 and $200,000. The NAICS code of this procurement is 541690 and the size standard of $7.0 million. The requirement is 100% set aside for Small Business.
