Description
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Schrodinger, Inc, Portland, OR 97204, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is to renew the software license for Schrodinger Interchangeable Token Library (17 Tokens) for Prime, Glide (includes XP Vis), CombiGlide, Phase, Liason, Qsite, MacroModel (includes ConfGen), Jaquar (includes pKa), KNIME, PrimX, QikProp, LigPrep, Epik, Strike, SiteMap, Canvas, and Core Hopping for a period of one (1) year. This software uses a solution of the Schrodinger Equation to describe the space and time dependence of quantum mechanical systems. This approach is used when the study requires a fit determination between two molecules (i.e. a protein and ligand or a drug compound and a cellular membrane). Four significant functions provided by this software are 1) fast and accurate prediction of ligand induced conformational changes in receptor active sites, 2) efficient rank-ordering of compounds and prediction binding affinities, 3) protein preparation correction algorithm for common structural problems and creating reliable, all atom protein models, and 4) M-polarized ligand docking is substantially enhanced accuracy over pure molecular modeling algorithms. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities/specifications to the Contracting Specialist at the address stated in this synopsis. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 8 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 8 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, the order will be issued to Schrodinger, Inc. The NAICS Code/Size is 511210/$25.0 Million. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures-Commercial Item Acquisition in conjunction with FAR Part 12 Commercial Item Acquisition of Commercial Items. There is no solicitation package available. For any questions regarding this announcement, please contact Dee Lunney via email lunney@niehs.nih.gov.
