- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice and in accordance with the simplified acquisition procedures authorized in FAR Part 13. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The office of NOAA National Marine Marine Mammal Laboratory located in Seattle, WA has a requirement for following brand name items:1.) Qty of 3 each Canon EOS-ID Mark III Camera Body; 2.) Qty 3 each 100 mm Zeiss lenses for Canon (ZE lens for EF); 3.) Qty 2 each Nikon D3X Camera body;and 4.) Qty 2 each 100 mm Zeiss lenses for Nikon (ZF lens for F bayonet mount). Quotes must be FOB destination NMML Facility Seattle, WA 98115. Based on in-house bench and flight testing of various combinations of camera bodies and lenses, these combinations will give us the highest resolution for species identification possible for our ice-associated seal surveys of the Bering Sea. These products are required for NOAA's forward motion compensating mount system (FMC). The mount system cannot control any other brand of camera. The requested brand name products or feature is essential to Government's requirements therefore product substitution is not acceptable for this procurement. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) 333315 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. The government intends to issue a firm fixed price contract with required delivery date of no later than March 15, 2012. All interested parties must respond to this announcement within ten (10) calendar days of its publication.
