- Description
- The National Park Service has issued a Prospectus soliciting proposals to operate a concession business opportunity for lodging, food and beverage, retail and other services within Shenandoah National Park. The existing Concession Contract between the NPS and the Existing Concessioner expires December 31, 2012. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51, has determined that the Existing Concessioner is not a preferred Offeror for the Contract to be awarded. The term of the new Concession Contract will be for ten years. The exact length of the term will be determined when the effective date is determined, at the time of the Contract execution. The prospectus is being released on January 31, 2012 for a 76-day advertisement. Proposals are due no later than 4:00 p.m. (Eastern Time), April 16, 2012. Any proposals must be received by the National Park Service, Northeast Region, Attn: Chief of Concessions; 200 Chestnut Street, 3rd floor; Philadelphia PA 19106. There is a printing cost recovery charge of $75 per copy to be delivered via Federal Express or $60 per copy if picked up in person. Checks or money orders (no cash or credit accepted) must be payable to the National Park Service; and you must include a business address (no post office box) to receive a Federal Express package. Prospectus packages will be available by contacting Ethan McKinley, Chief of Concessions, Northeast Region, via email at Ethan_McKinley@nps.gov. The Prospectus will also be available by the afternoon of January 31, 2012, at http://concessions.nps.gov/prospectuses.htm. If you choose to retrieve a copy of the Prospectus from the NPS website please notify Ethan McKinley via email so you are placed on the mailing list to receive notifications of any future modifications or other correspondence.
