- The USGS requires non-personal services relating to Radiation Safety Technician Support at its labs in three locations: Menlo Park, CA; Denver, CO, and Reston, VA. It is anticipated that the purchase order would be awarded for a one year period of performance, with one additional option year. The contractor shall furnish labor necessary to perform the radiation safety technician support services specified below and will provide various reports required to document this work:a.Conducts required surveys per individual radioisotope utilization permits.b.Calibrates radioactivity survey meters (count-rate and dose-rate).c.Conducts leak tests on sealed sources. d.Supports packaging and shipping of radioactive materials. e.Monitors handling, storage and removal of radioactive waste. f.Assists RSO with inventories and other related tasks as needed. The complete listing of requirements, statement of work, work locations, schedule, contractor qualifications, evaluation criteria and anticipated terms and conditions are provided in the solicitation documents and associated attachments, expected to be released on or about 1/31/2012. This acquisition is being conducted under the procedures of FAR Part 12 (Commercial) and FAR Part 13 (Simplified Acquisition Procedures). The anticipated closing date for the solicitation is 2/15/2012 and the anticipated award date is 2/20/2012. This is anticipated to be a 100% small business set aside.
