- Description
- NASA/JSC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the JSC Engineering,Technolgoy and Science (JETS) Contract. This requirement is for the current Engineeringand Science Contract (ESC, NNJ05HI05C), which ends on January 31, 2013. The primaryscope of JETS is engineering, technology development, scientific products and technicalservices support at JSC for the Engineering Directorate (EA) and Astomaterials Researchand Exploration Science (KA) Directorate. Activities include engineering products andservices in support of International Space Station (ISS), Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle(MPCV), and other current and future NASA programs; research and development for newtechnology; design, development, verification, certification, and production of hardwareand software for NASA programs; astromaterials collections curation, science developmentand products for planetary missions and physical science research; technology transfer;and operation and maintenance of onsite laboratories and facilities.The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 541712 - Research and Development in the PhysicalEngineering, and Life Sciences (except Biotechnology) and 1,000 employees under theexception for Space Vehicles and Guided Missiles, their Propulsion Units, theirProplusion Units Parts, their Auxiliary Equipment and Parts.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.The anticipated release date of the final RFP is on April 05, 2012 with an anticipatedoffer due date of May 24, 2012 and the past performance volume due on May 14, 2012.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
