Description
The National Institutes of Health, Office of the Director,Office of Logistics and Acquisitions Operations, on behalf of the NIA,LEG intends to award a single source contract to Texas Health Sciences Center University located in San Antonio, TX. The contract is to assist in the LEG study, Assessment of Primate Aging:Effects of Caloric Modification.The purpose is to provide pathological services on tissue obtained from the over 120 monkeys which started on this long term study. NAICS code is 541712 and size standard is 7.0M. This acquisition is conducted under the authoruty of 41 United States Code (U.S.C) 253(c ) (1&2) as set forth in the Federal Acquisition Regulation. (FAR) 6.302-1&2. The contractor requires significant knowledge and experience in pathological analyses of aging monkey tissue. In addition the means for processing and archiving the tissue sent to the contractor must be manifest. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. The Government will consider responses received by February 6, 2012,5:00 p.m. (EST)Inquiries will only be accepted via email to tonia.ellen@nih.gov. No telephone requests will be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
