- Description
- 1. Sources are sought to obtain the services and expertise necessary for the operation and management of the STARBASE program at Hanscom Air Force Base (HAFB), MA. The contractor shall provide all services for the management and operation of the STARBASE program to include program management, educational instruction, curriculum development, and information management to ensure successful accomplishment of the STARBASE program in accordance with Department of Defense Instruction 1025.7 a. DoD STARBASE is a premier educational program, sponsored by the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs. At DoD STARBASE students participate in challenging "hands-on, mind-on" activities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). They interact with military personnel to explore careers and observe STEM applications in the "real world." The program provides students with 20-25 hours of stimulating experiences at National Guard, Navy, Marine, Air Force Reserve and Air Force bases across the nation 2. The duration of this contract including all options is anticipated to be 5 years. 3. The Government does not intend to award this contract on the basis of this notification or otherwise pay for any information related to this notice. This synopsis does not constitute a request for proposal, and is not considered to be a commitment by the Government. 4. Respondents capable of satisfying the requirements stated herein should send an electronic copy of their response within 14 days of this publication to Second Lieutenant Chase Wilke, Chase.wilke@hanscom.af.mil Contracts Manager, ESC/PKOB, 16 Eglin St., Hanscom, MA 01731-2107. Responses should include a narrative identifying the scope of past and current services contracted for within the past (3) years, describe capabilities to perform the services described in the synopsis, and include references for each contract. Respondents should ensure their responses are complete and sufficiently detailed to allow the Government to determine their qualifications and capabilities to perform the assigned work. 5. Contractors must identify their business type [i.e. SDB, (8a), woman owned, service disabled vet-owned, HUBZone, small or large.] The responses will serve as a basis for the Government's decision to establish the requirement as an 8 (a), small business set-aside, small business size standard $7.0M, or full and open competition.
