- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has a requirement for CONUS (Continental United States) Field Service Representative (FSR) support for training and maintenance of the AAQ-24(V) Directed Infrared Countermeasures (DIRCM) on CV-22 aircraft. NAVAIR plans to award a sole source modification to delivery order 0017 under NAVAIR BOA N00019-08-G-0012 to Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation, Electronic Systems, Land and Self Protection Systems Division, Rolling Meadows, IL for this requirement. The FSR duties will include but are not limited to the following LAIRCM field support tasks: Provide on-site/on-equipment informal training to USAF personnel on installation, maintenance, reprogramming and operating procedures pertaining to the trouble-shooting, operational ground checks, routine maintenance, inspection and repair of the LAIRCM prime equipment/systems. Provide advice and insight on the importance of proper optics cleaning and what can happen if routine cleaning procedures are not followed. Provide on-site/on-equipment informal training to the USAF flight and maintenance crews on operating the LAIRCM system and the related equipment required to operate the LAIRCM system. This effort is being awarded on a sole source basis to Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation, Electronic Systems, Land and Self Protection Systems Division, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 because Northrop Grumman is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the equipment addressed in this synopsis and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
