- Description
- THE NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH (NIH), National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), Office of Acquisitions (OA), on behalf of the NHLBI/DIR Cardiovascular-Pulmonary Branch intends to solicit, negotiate on a sole source basis and award a contract for on-call 24/7 Emergency Maintenance; Unscheduled Maintenance; and Preventative maintenance for an Artis Zee bi-plane x-ray system and various Syngo MM workplaces, to Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. 3780 Mansell Road, Suite 400, Alpharetta, GA 30022, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The period of performance will be October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2013 (base period) with 4 one-year options. The North American Classification System (NAICS) code applicable to this requirement is 334510 - Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing with a size standard of 500 employees. The basis for the sole source determination is based upon the fact that: Siemens Medical Solutions, Inc. is the sole provider of the maintenance service for their proprietary equipment. The Notice of Intent expires 15 days from its posting. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, in writing, no later than the response date. Written responses to this notice shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. Written responses shall reference this Notice of Intent No. NHLBI-CSB-HL-2012-37-RRJ, may be submitted in writing to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute 6701 Rockledge Drive, RLKG Bldg 2, Room 6135, Bethesda, Maryland 20892, Attention: Robin Jeffries. Emails will also be accepted at robin.jeffries@nih.gov. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
