Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a project to construct a one-story, approximately 19,000 square foot addition to the Ralph H. Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center. The proposed work will completely prepare site for building operations, by demolishing and removal of an existing pre-engineered metal building and two modular office buildings, provide foundations and infrastructure capable of supporting a vertical expansion of four additional stories in the future, and construct the new Post Traumatic Stress Disorder/Mental Health Research Addition as required by drawings and specifications. The effort will be performed in five phases: Phase 1: Demolish concrete on Charlie Street as shown and install new pavement IAW site plans. Phase 2: Demolish existing facility and adjacent concrete pavement. Phase 3: Demolish building canopy and concrete pavement. Drive piles for new pavement. Use alternate entry for access. Phase 4: Construct new facility. Phase 5: Construct new parking stalls, and install new pavement in all remaining areas where instructed. Install new pavement striping in loading area and the rest of the site IAW site plans. Repair any landscaping damaged due to construction. The effort will also include a focused effort in the following areas during each phase of construction: Traffic Management, Pedestrian Management, and Service Court Access for Medical Center functions, personnel, and customers. Work will be performed at the Ralph H. Johnson Veterans Administration Center, located in Charleston, South Carolina. This will be a 100% Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-Aside IAW FAR 19.1405. The NAICS Code is 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. The Small Business Size Standard is $33.5 Million. This will be a Firm-Fixed Price Construction Project. MAGNITUDE OF WORK $5,000,000.00 TO $10,000,000.00. The solicitation and any subsequent amendments will only be available in electronic format, downloadable from the internet. No CD-ROMs or hardcopy documents will be distributed. Contractor must be registered in CCR prior to award of a contract. Solicitation documents, plans, and specifications will only be available at https://www/fbo.gov It is the responsibility of the bidders to monitor the website for notices and amendments.
