- The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Medical Automation Systems Inc 2300 Commonwealth Drive Charlottesville, VA 22901 for 8 months to obtain a Software Technology System License with (four) one year renewal options for I-STAT PCA Software that interface with the Remote Automated Laboratory System (RALS) in accordance with FAR 6.302-1.The existence of limited rights in data, patent rights, copyrights, or secret processes; the control of basic raw material; or similar circumstances, make the supplies and services available from only one source (however, the mere existence of such rights or circumstances does not in and of itself justify the use of these authorities). The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System currently has equipment that requires compatibility in all aspects with existing systems and Medical Automation Systems software provides this support. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest; accompanied by supporting literature, to the Contracting Officer no later than January 31, 2012 at 09:00 a.m. EST. Responses should be sent to johnny.barton@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 541512.
