Description: The purpose of the modification to the Special Notice Synopsis regarding Industry Day is to attach the Industry Days brief slides, list of attendees and questions/ answers resulting from Industry Day. Previous Information: Meeting for 5" Rocket Laser Guidance Systems Project. This notice is being posted under solicitation number N68936-12-R-0062. The Department of the Navy (DON) is hosting an Industry Day from 0900 “ 1100 on 25 January 2012 with sidebar sessions to be offered after the main session. The purpose of Industry Day is to disseminate information to the defense industry regarding the government intention to mature the state of the art in 5 ť Rocket Laser Guidance Systems. Background: A USMC Deliberate Universal Need Statement (D-UNS) #10277UA for 5" Rocket Laser Guidance System requests a forward firing, precision guided, low collateral damage weapon for USMC FW TACAIR platforms in order to engage multiple, fleeting, soft targets during CAS missions in OEF. It is the intent of the government to collect performance data and provide range and engineering support for suppliers to demonstrate a 5" Rocket Laser Guided weapon. The contractor provided weapons will be ground launched by the Navy at the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake. Fly-out and weapon/seeker performance data will be captured by the government and each supplier will be given the data package from their provided weapons launches.
