Extended descriptions of law enforcement equipment salient characteristics. PDF Version of RFI Questionnaire for hard copy and quick referencing. Models that Comply with the NIJ Standard-0101.06 for Ballistic-Resistance of Body Armor. DESCRIPTION The Enterprise Sourcing Group (ESG) Force Protection Commodity Council (FPCC) is exploring the status, capacity and capability of Law Enforcement Equipment manufacturers, wholesalers, or distributors. • Attachment 1, titled US Air Force - Law Enforcement Equipment RFI Salient Characteristics - Final 24 Jan 12, lists the extended descriptions the equipment and gear the Air Force may be interested in. o Attachment 1A, titled Approved Manufacturers of Concealable Body Armor - Ballistic, lists the specifications of the various levels of body armor and protection; as well as list the authorized Manufacturers IAW NIJ Standard-0101.06 for Ballistic-Resistance Body Armor • Attachment 2, titled FPCC-LE Equipment Questionnaire PDF - Final, is a PDF version of the RFI Questionnaire for printing and hard copy referencing. The link at the bottom of this notice will take interested parties to an electronic questionnaire that requests general information about your business in relation to the equipment and gear listed. This RFI may be followed by a Request for Proposal (RFP). All interested sources are strongly encouraged to complete the questionnaire supporting this request. Upon completion of the questionnaire the responses will automatically be sent to appropriate personnel. Responses may be submitted until Friday, 10 February 2012. No hard copy responses will be accepted. BACKGROUND The Enterprise Sourcing Group (ESG) located at Wright Patterson AFB, OH is responsible for enterprise level strategic sourcing. The ESG is the Air Force's centralized organization for executing enterprise-wide strategic sourcing for installation goods and services. ESG utilizes strategic sourcing best practices to continually improve and re-evaluate organizational purchasing activities, to improve quality and reduce acquisition costs for installation acquisition. ESG uses cross-functional teams called "Commodity Councils" to strategically source goods and/or services at the enterprise level. DISCLAIMER The purpose of this RFI is to obtain information about market information or capabilities for planning purposes as defined in FAR 15.201(e). Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Participants are advised that only Air Force Contracting Officers are legally authorized to commit the Government to the obligation of funds. For copyright purposes, participants are also advised that submitting a response implies express permission for the Government to use the data and other information contained in the submittals. We highly encourage all interested parties to provide a complete and thorough response to this RFI, however not responding will not preclude participation should a solicitation be released. Please monitor the Federal Business Opportunities (www.fbo.gov) website for future information pertaining to this potential requirement. The Air Force will not accept or acknowledge: e-mails over 1MB, brochures, samples, catalogs and any other marketing information.
