- VISN 6 CAS will issue on or about February 8, 2012 RFP VA246-12-R-0085, Renovate Building 6 for Education (Design/Build). Contractor shall provide all labor, material, tools, equipment, transportation, qualified supervision, and design services necessary for complete design, installation, and testing of the heating system for Building 6. Work includes HVAC & electrical engineering design, piping demolition, pipe-fitting, concrete slab casting, electrical work, HVAC control work, necessary removal of existing structures and construction. Any necessary piping connections and transitions to the existing systems are the responsibility of the Contractor. All heating hot water controls and control valves, and thermostats shall be new. There shall be thermostatic control for all radiators, finned-tube convectors and fan coil units. The Contractor shall provide a fully operational heating system providing all necessary equipment and accessories to make it so. There will be no government supplied items or equipment. All work, including final inspection and completion of punchlist items shall be completed within three hundred (300) calendar days from receipt of the Notice to Proceed. The government anticipates award without discussions. NAICS 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, with a small business size standard of $33.5M applies to this procurement. The procurement is set-aside to qualified service-disabled, veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB). Offers from other than SDVOSB firms shall not be accepted. A pre-proposal conference will be held approximately two weeks after the issuance of the solicitation. The exact date, time, and location of the conference will be specified in the solicitation. There will be no public opening of the proposals. The estimated dollar amount of this procurement is between $500,000.00 - $1,000,000.00
