- DESCRIPTION: This is a Notice of Intent to make a Sole Source award under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to Relm Radios for use by wild-land fire fighters. Relm/King radios are the only known provider of radios that meet the specifications and safety concerns required by wild-land firefighters. Relm Radios is the only known responsible vendor capable of providing Ft. Apache Fire Dept. the technical support to accommodate multiple emergency incidents in close proximity. This will be the only notice of the Government's intent to solicit and negotiate with only one source in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 Other Than Full and Open Competition. Firms having the ability to provide this service should notify Glenn Shafer, Contract Specialist, in writing via e-mail at: Glenn.Shafer@bia.gov by 2:00 P.M. MST on February 21, 2012. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
