- The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is announcing the award of a modification to contract HQ0147-11-C-0003 with Alliant Techsystems, (ATK) Inc. of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The total value of this modification is $13,502,462, increasing the total contract value to $16,084,903. Under this modification, ATK will develop and test Solid Divert and Attitude Control Systems (SDACS) technologies of interest to the MDA. This contract represents part of the MDA's technology development strategy to improve performance and reduce risk for BMD interceptor divert and attitude control systems. This contract was competitively procured via publication on the Federal Business Opportunities website under the MDA Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for Advanced Technology Innovation (ATI), HQ0147-09-ATI-BAA. This work will be performed in Elkton, Maryland from February 2012 through December 2012. Fiscal year 2012 Research, Development, Test and Evaluation funds in the amount of $800,000 will be used to incrementally fund this effort. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is not a foreign military sales acquisition. The MDA, Huntsville, Alabama, is the contracting activity.
