- The U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL) will host an Acoustic Sensing Technology Industry Day on 15 February 2012. This event will provide a forum by which ARL will communicate research, development and fabrication opportunities and increase competition on future procurements by sharing specific information regarding acoustic and other related unattended sensing technology requirements.(i.e., seismic, magnetic, e-field, etc,) The research, development and fabrication areas to be discussed include: acoustic sensing with embedded signal processing and related unattended sensing technologies. Opportunities to miniaturize and harden these technologies will also be discussed. Specific details will be provided at the Industry Day. During this event, ARL will provide an overview of the goals, identify specific areas of sensing research, development and fabrication and address specific acquisition rules (to include rules for accepting questions, comments, recommendations, etc.) associated with this Industry Day. ARL is seeking a broad cross-section of the acoustic sensing technology, research, development and fabrication community to attend and participate in this Industry Day. The acoustic sensing technology industry day attendance will be limited to the first 200 persons to register - only two participants from any organization may register and attend. Pre-registration via email up until 1300 EST on February 13th, 2012 will be considered. ARL will confirm all registrations. Those interested in attending must send an email stating their intent on attending the event to IndustryDay@optimum.Net. Event Details: The event will be held on 15 February 2012 at 0900. Schedule as follows: 08:00 - 09:00 Registration 09:00 - 09:15 Administrative Comments 09:15 - 10:30 Technical Presentation 10:30 - 11:00 Open session Q&A 11:00 - 12:00 Individual Meetings 12:00 - 13:00 Break 13:00 - 16:00 Individual Meetings Private Meetings: When registering, Organizations or individuals can request an individual meeting with Government staff.Each individual meeting will be no longer than 15 minutes and only one meeting per organization. The number of individual meetings will be limited to 16 and will be provided on a first to sign up basis. The Government will not pay for any effort expended in responding to the notice, or participation in this event (to include attendees travel costs), nor will the Government accept proposals as a result of this notice.
