- The Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) Quantico, VA intends to issue request for quote number M67854-12-T-3014 for 200 each, Protective Overgarments (POG). A firm fixed price purchase order to Hawk Protection, Inc, 8362 Pine Blvd, Suite 280, Pembroke Pines, FL, 33024 utilizing other than full and open competition procedures as authorized by FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) and is expected to be awarded no later than March 2012. The Marine Corps currently uses the POG (NSN: 8470-01-599-0159) produced by Hawk Protection, Inc. to provide fragmentation protection to the groin, perineum and anus equivalent to the protection provided by full armor vests. MCSC has a requirement for additional developmental and comparative testing for which quantities were not allotted on the production contract. Due to the specific nature of the desired testing and that fact that Hawk is the Original Equipment Manufacturer of the USMC, no other sources are capable of submitting the requested items. This notice is NOT a request for quotes; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement or quote to be considered by MCSC no later than 10 days after this notice. This notice of intent represents the only official notice of this contracting action and is not a request for quotes.
