- Description
- The United States Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Centers, Long Range Enforcer - Contracts & Procurement Branch 2, Oakland, CA anticipates awarding a sole source procurement to Northrop Gruman Maritime Systems for technical assistance to troubleshoot MK-39 Gyro. Technician will perform onsite technical assistance to certify MK-39 Gyro system is fully operational and performing according to standards on board the USCGC Waesche. Northrop Gruman Maritime Systems is being awarded this contract due to equipment degradation that causes the Gyro system to provide erroneous information to be displayed on its command and control displays. It is necessary to contract with the requested vendor to obtain the required services because Northrop Gruman Maritime they have special expertise in the design and performance of their equipment and its ability to integrate its performance with other systems. The existing configuration requires use of specific repair materials, manufactured by Northrop Gruman Maritime to ensure correct form, fit & safety of the vessel's gyro systems. Northrop Gruman Maritime is the sole proprietor. This procurement will be made on behalf of the CGC Waesche. Vendor will provide all the parts listed in the Schedule of Items. NAICS Code # 334511 applies to this procurement. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. No solicitation will be issued, however all responses received on/before 0900am PST on 27January, 2012 will be reviewed by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.
