- ***RESPONSE DUE DATE CORRECTION*** Introduction: The Social Security Administration is conducting market research to gain knowledge of potential sources that can provide consulting services for systems storage management. This Request for Information (RFI) is NOT a Request for Quotation (RFQ) or a Request for Proposal (RFP) and, as a result of this posting, SSA is in no way obligated to award a contract. The information provided may be used by the Social Security Administration to develop an acquisition strategy and solidify the statement of work. Response Instructions: Interested parties shall review the attached DRAFT SOW and respond to the questions below. All interested parties that believe they have the capability and resources to meet the requirements listed in the DRAFT Statement of Work (SOW) may respond in writing no later than Wednesday, February 1, 12:00 pm EST. All responses shall be submitted by e-mail to Traci.Leach@ssa.gov. The subject line of the submission should be "RFI for Storage Management." Responses must include the company name, address, point of contact, phone number, and e-mail address. Telephone calls regarding this RFI posting will not be accepted, nor will they be returned. The Government will not pay for, nor will it return information provided in response to this notice. Information received will be considered solely for market research purposes. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website at www.fbo.gov. It is the interested parties' responsibility to monitor this site for release of any solicitation. Questions: 1. Do you have experience in A) Assessing and providing detailed best practices and B) Recommending storage improvements and strategies for government agencies with multi storage device types, multi petabytes, and multi datacenters? If so, please describe the nature of this experience. 2. This RFI will allow industry the opportunity to verify reasonableness and feasibility of the government's requirement. In an effort to measure reasonableness and feasibility, what additional information from the government would you need to develop a quotation? 3. Describe the risks associated with participating in this effort (business, operational technical), and what actions could be taken to mitigate these risks. 4. Are you able to make assessments and recommendations on mainframe, open systems, virtual tape and storage staff? 5. Please provide a capability statement. 6. Questions and or comments?
