Notice Type: Special Notice NOTICE OF SOLE SOURCE AWARD: The VA Network 22 Contracting Office (NCO) has awarded a purchase order as a sole source requirement to ATL/Philips Ultrasound for the below listed requirement. This announcement is published as a sole source pursuant to the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-2, Unusual and Compelling Urgency. ATL/Philips is the only source that can provide repair services for the Philips IRIX Camera without voiding warranty. Procurement of the repair services is in support of the diagnosis of cancer and other diseases in the major organs of patients to the Veterans Affairs Long Beach Healthcare System. The primary objective of this purchase order is to provide repair services for the ATL/Philips IRIX Camera which is needed in order to ensure continued patient care for the Veterans. This purchase order will provide capabilities in support of the repairs of the urgently needed IRIX camera. ATL/Philips provides the only repair service as both the service and parts are proprietary to Philips only. The purchase order was awarded on January 23, 2012 with a start date of January 23, 2012 to be completed February 17, 2012.
