- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) awarded a sole source production contract to BAE Systems for the continued production and delivery of AN/APX-117, AN/APX-118, and AN/APX-123 Common Transponder Systeems (CXP) and associated equipment. This contract award includes production, test and delivery of 336 CXP units, 84 remote control units (RCUs), 78 Mounts, 24 receiver/transmitters, 20 signal processors, 20 signal processor boards, 75 power supplys, 25 cryptos, 50 chassis,, 41 mode 5 kits, and support for weapons systems platform integration and installation. This contract was awarded on a sole source basis under the authority of 10 U.S.C2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, 'Only one responsible sourcew and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. BAE Systems is the original designer, developer, and manufacturer of the AN/APX-117/118(V) and AN/APX-123V systems.
