Canyon Trail approximately three miles. At the end of three miles there are several signs stating you are on the Continental Divide. Work on the Maud S. to The Lady Project ends here. Follow flags and stakes to the beginning of the project approximately 3/4 mile northeast of The Lady of the Rockies. Access to the project shall be granted by the private landowner to the road that the project crosses near STA 18 to the awarded bidder. Access shall not be granted to view the project prior to bidding through the private land. Bidders must hike up the Maud S. Canyon to see the trail. Dirt bikes are not allowed on the Maud S. Trail System. Description of Work The project consists of constructing over three miles of new Continental Divide National Scenic Trail. Construction items include clearing and grubbing, turns, dips, sign installation and major rock excavation. Stake refreshing and cleanup are required in this contract. Due to the extensive rock excavation, it is the advice of the Contracting Officer that bidders either be licensed to use explosives in the state of Montana or have someone on the payroll licensed. Site Visit Project maps were made available for bidders by request on November 2, 2011, for this reason, no site visit has been planned for this project.
