Description

Notice of Intent to Sole Source The Department of Veterans Affairs, SAO East, Network Contracting Office VISN 8 intends to enter into a sole source contract with Spacelabs Medical, Inc. 5150 220 Ave SE, Issaquah, Wa., 98029-6834 for Physiological Monitoring Solution with trade-in. After extensive research it was determined that Spacelabs Medical, Inc., is the only contractor that provides such a product. The procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 8.405-6 (b)(1), only one source is capable of responding due to the unique or specialized nature of the work. Spacelab Medical, Inc. is the sole provider of this equipment is 339112 with a size standard of 500 employees. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation documents are available and telephone request will not be honored. However, if a firm believes it can meet the requirements as stated herein, they must provide written notification to the Contracting Officer within five (5) days from the date of this publication/announcement, accompanied by supporting evidence in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability of a firm to comply with the above requirement. Responses received will be evaluated by the Contracting Officer. However, information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and should furnish detailed data concerning their capabilities to provide the so stated product to VA, within a deliverable time. If no responses are received within the stated time frame, the VA will precede with the intended sole source contract awards with Spacelabs Medical, Inc. All information relative to this requirement must be sent to the attention of the Purchasing Agent, at the following address: James. Roberts2@va.gov
