- Description
- The Food and Drug Administration (FDA)) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 6.302-1, with Liberty Lock & Security Inc, of Rockville, Maryland, for the continued lock work services at the FDA. *****Sole source determination is based on the urgent need for continued lock work. FDA Office of Security Operations Physical Security Branch has a continuing need to have lock work performed at several locations throughout the DC metro area. The work includes installation of: door lock hardware, inter-changeable cores, Kaba access control devices, Schlage wireless access control devices, and maintaining master key system. Currently FDA's has a master key system that is managed by Liberty Lock & Security Inc (LLS) Certified Registered Locksmith. In order to maintain the physical security of FDA buildings and personnel safety, it is imperative that LLS maintain this duty so that government service is not interrupted. Presently, LLS has exclusive and nontransferable rights to FDA's high security keying systems/products, building guard key control, electronic code access control, standardization of products and adherence to life safety requirements. Liberty Lock & Security Inc. is the only known source capable of providing the required services based on having exclusive rights to the existing locks. *****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 561622, and the size standard is $7.0M. ******A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. *****No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, responses received by February 3, 2012 will be considered by the Government.
