- Clauses Sole Brand Justification Request for Quote/Statement of Work This is a combined synopsis/solicitation prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition procedures pursuant to the authority in FAR Part 13, and FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items (Title VII of the Federal Acquisition Act of 1994 (Public Law 103-355)). This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; therefore a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number NB687010-12-00612 is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). This is a small business set aside request. The requested delivery date is within 8 weeks ARO. The NAICS classification is 334515. The small business size standard is 500 employees. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Acquisition Management Division intends to procure a name brand Cascade Microtech Microwave wafer probe. Please see attachments. The proposed contract action is a request for quote for commercial supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with any qualified vendor under the authority of FAR Part 11.105(a) (1), the particular brand name, products, or feature is essential to the Government's requirements, and market research indicates other companies' similar products, or products lacking the particular feature, do not meet, or cannot be modified to meet, the agency's needs.
