- Description
- The circuit breakers in the 1S, 2S, Propulsion, and Emergency Switchboards onboard the USNS ZEUS (T-ARC 7) are unsupportable and require replacement. This Contract includes the design, regulatory body approvals, material procurement, removal of the existing systems, and installation of the new circuit breaker replacements and associated switchboard modifications. The base requirement is for the design portion of this Contract. The Contract will include options to perform fabrication/procurement and installation that may be exercised if required. The Circuit Breaker Replacement design, fabrication, and installation shall meet applicable ABS, IEEE, and IEC requirements. The Contractor shall create a design to replace the main switchboard circuit breakers. The Contractor shall accurately prepare AutoCAD drawings for the designated systems in accordance with the standard drawings provided as Government Furnished Information (GFI). The Contractor will be required to perform surveys, ship checks, create as-built drawings, red line mark ups, work packages and other correspondence in order to develop, update, or revise drawings for various engineering disciplines including, but not limited to, marine engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, and naval architecture. If optional tasks are exercised, the Contractor shall procure circuit breakers and support equipment/materials, fabricate replacement breaker cartridges, bus bar modifications, and install all equipment and materials necessary to complete the Circuit Breaker replacement in accordance with ABS, IEEE, and IEC requirements. The period of performance will encompass the design to replace the main switchboard circuit breakers with options to procure circuit breakers and support equipment/materials, fabricate replacement breaker cartridges and bus bar modifications, and install all equipment and materials necessary to complete the Circuit Breaker replacement. This procurement is a FAR Part 12 acquisition conducted using FAR Part 15 procedures.
