- NASA/GSFC awarded a contract to SSAI for Scientific and Technical Support Serviceswithin the Global Modeling and Assimilation Office (GMAO). This support includes, but isnot limited to: 1) scientific research and development support; 2) development andmaintenance of operational capabilities; 3) project management support and 4) dataanalysis. Specific work elements within the above areas are described as follows: providecomprehensive diagnostic, monitoring and evaluation tools for GMAO prediction models anddata assimilation systems for applications including numerical weather prediction,climate analysis and prediction, observing system evaluation and design of new NASAsatellite missions and significant technical input to NASA's instrument team algorithms.
